Scientific poster design
When: 25-26 August 2020
Where: Evolutionary Biology Centre, Uppsala (OR if not possible to have a physical meeting, the course will be held online).
Number of credits: 0.5 ECTS
Target audience: PhD students working in fields related to chemicals, health and environment (also early career and senior researchers can, as far as space allows, attend).
Aim: Communicating your science effectively is one of the most meaningful things to learn, and this course aims to increase your skills in making a good poster and communicating your science.
Content: This is a workshop offering an occasion to learn more about visualizing and communicating your science, as well as extensive networking opportunities.

August 25 (10-17):
- Workshop “visualize your science”, including lectures and hands-on DIY poster design. This workhop will be held by Andreas Dahlin from Visualize Your Science AB https://www.visualizeyourscience.com/
August 26 (11-13):
- Poster session
Course objectives
Knowledge and understanding
- Describe how to design an attractive poster
Skills and capacities
- Apply practical skills to design and present a poster
Evaluative capacity and approach
- To do a constructive evaluation of other participants posters.
Examination: Active participation in the course is needed to achieve the course credits, where presenting a poster made during the workshop is the examination.
